In June, media company Tegna confirmed that Daily Blast Live would cease production in September, after having first launched in 2015.
The final broadcast is reportedly scheduled for September 6.
Fans have flooded the news channel’s social media accounts with words of love and sorrow as the final broadcast approaches.
“Going to miss you all, I feel like I’m losing friends,” one viewer wrote on Facebook.
“Have come to rely on your show for current event plus meaningful topics. And more often than not I agree with Al. Am really going to miss his take on things.”
“I HATE HATR HATE that you guys are going off the air,” another wrote.
“You guys are mid afternoon joy. I wish you all the best! I am not looking forward to the future without you guys.”
A third chimed in, commenting, “I so look forward to your show every day. I’m going to be lost. Best wishes to all of you.”
“I’m so heart broken that you are ending,” another said.
“I love each and everyone one of you . May you be blessed with beautiful futures . God bless.”
“I will miss you all so much! I have been watching the show daily since I retired 4 years ago,” another Facebook user wrote.
“You all make me smile.”
Some blasted Tegna for canceling the show, with one Facebook user writing, “I hate that your show is ending! We discovered your show a couple of years ago and have loved it.
“Bad decision by management again.”
Daily Blast Live features six primary hosts including former CNN journalist Sam Schacher, reality TV star Jeff Schroeder, fashion expert Stefanie Jones, long-time journalist Erica Cobb, as well as stand-up comics Al Jackson and Tory Shulman.
The show aired live three times a day Monday through Friday from 12:30 pm – 1 pm, 2pm – 6pm, and 7:30 pm – 8 pm.
The broadcast talk show aired in dozens of Tenga-owned television markets across the country as well as on Facebook and YouTube.
We wish to thank our incredibly talented on-air talent and production team for bringing daytime viewers seven seasons of energetic, humorous and thoughtful debate.
Tenga
When announcing the show’s cancelation in June, Tenga thanked the hosts and staff for their hard work.
“Daily Blast Live will be sunset after this season’s final show on Friday, Sept. 6,” the company said in a statement.
“We wish to thank our incredibly talented on-air talent and production team for bringing daytime viewers seven seasons of energetic, humorous, and thoughtful debate.
“We look forward to celebrating DBL’s best moments in the coming months ahead of the show’s conclusion.”
At the time, Tenga did not reveal exactly why the talk show would cease to air, instead calling it a “business decision,” according to Radio and Television Business Report.
Shortly after the announcement, thousands of fans banded together to start a petition in order to keep the talk show on the air.
“Over the past seven years, DBL has become a staple in the lives of many viewers,” the Change petition’s description read.
“The show’s unique blend of trending topics, compassionate discussions, and diverse viewpoints has set it apart from other programs.
“The hosts have become like family, providing not just information, but also comfort and a sense of community.”
Several supporters of the show shared video testimonies of why they wished to keep watching Daily Beast Live and over 9,600 people signed the petition.
However, social media posts from frequent guests have revealed that the talk show is still on track to air its final broadcast next week.
Kimmy Seltzer, an expert frequently featured on the show, revealed on Tuesday that she had filmed her last segment ahead of the final broadcast.
“And that’s a wrap…a bitter sweet segment on @DailyBlastLIVE for the final episode before the show ends,” she wrote in a post to X.
“Thank you for having me on and allowing me to spread the love.”
