Steelers make moves ahead of Falcons game

The Steelers elevated wide receiver Ben Skowronek from the practice squad to the Active/Inactive roster ahead of Sunday’s regular season opener against the Atlanta Falcons.

Skowronek was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the 249th overall pick. He appeared in 45 games for the Rams, starting 12, while pulling in 58 receptions for 575 yards.

He was traded to the Houston Texans this offseason.

He played college football at Northwestern, before transferring to Notre Dame for his final college season. While at Notre Dame he played in 11 games, finishing with 29 receptions for 439 yards and five touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns came against the University of Pittsburgh at Acrisure Stadium, when he finished the game with two receptions for 107 yards, both touchdowns, one for 34 yards and a 73-yarder.

The team also placed rookie defensive lineman Logan Lee on the Reserve/Injured List.

Lee was one of the team’s sixth-round draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Lee, who played at Iowa, was selected with the 178th overall pick.

Lee played in 43 games, starting 41 of them, at Iowa. He had 158 career tackles, including 58 solo stops, 18.5 tackles for a loss, nine sacks and seven passes defensed.

Lee started 13 games at defensive tackle in 2023, finishing the season with 55 tackles, 19 of them solo stops. He had five and a half tackles for a loss, three sacks, three pass breakups, one pressure and one blocked kick.

Lee had a career-high 10 tackles, with two and a half tackles for a loss, and a career high two sacks in a win over Purdue last season.
