Gemini and Genesis charged by SEC with promoting unregistered securities

The United States Securities and Alternate Price (SEC) on Jan. 12 charged cryptocurrency lending company Genesis Global Capital and crypto change Gemini with offering unregistered securities by Gemini’s “Safe” program.

In December 2020, Genesis, a subsidiary of crypto conglomerate Digital Forex Neighborhood (DCG) entered into a contend with Gemini to provide the change’s customers the yield-bearing crypto product. This become then launched in February 2021.
