
The US Department of Justice presented a “necessary world cryptocurrency enforcement action” against crypto firm Bitzlato and the arrest of its founder Anatoly Legkodymov.
In a Jan. 18 announcement, U.S. Deputy Lawyer Fashioned Lisa Monaco stated authorities had taken enforcement actions against Bizlato in coordination with France, seizing Bitzlato’s web discipline and labeling the exchange as a “predominant money laundering difficulty” related to Russian illicit finance. In step with Monaco, the Department of Justice worked with the Treasury Department and French regulations enforcement to clutch action against Bitzlato for allegedly “conducting a money transmitting exchange that transported and transmitted illicit funds and that did now not meet U.S. regulatory safeguards.”
